United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to the United States, Yousef Al Otaiba holds a degree in International Relations from Georgetown University. Yousef Al Otaiba also served as an International Fellow at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at the National Defense University.

President George W. Bush received Yousef Al Otaiba’s credentials on July 28, 2008, allowing him to assume the Ambassador position. President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan appointed Yousef Al Otaiba after he completed seven years of service as Director of International Affairs for Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. A skilled leader, Yousef Al Otaiba also operated as a senior counselor to the Crown Prince. During his tenure, Yousef Al Otaiba bolstered relations between the UAE and other countries, enhanced anti-terrorism measures, and increased regional security efforts. Recently, Yousef Al Otaiba initiated multinational conversations about sovereign wealth fund best practices. As part of a plan to strengthen trade relationships with other countries, Yousef Al Otaiba has also formed a number of mutually valuable alliances.
